Let’s remember the story of Lord Vamana and King Bali with a fun drawing activity!

In the story, Vamana asks King Bali for three steps of land. He then grows into a huge form and covers the earth, the sky and beyond with his three steps.

Let’s create our own three-step footprint craft!

What You’ll Need

  • A sheet of paper
  • Pencil
  • Crayons or colour pencils
  • Sketch pens
  • Scissors (with adult help, if needed)

Step 1: Draw Three Footprints

Draw three large footprints on your sheet of paper. You can draw them in a row or one below the other.

Make sure there is enough space inside each footprint for your drawings.

Step 2: Show Vamana’s Three Steps

Now let’s fill the footprints with pictures!

  • First footprint: Draw the earth, with little trees, mountains and houses.
  • Second footprint: Draw the sky, with clouds, the sun and stars.
  • Third footprint: Draw Lord Vamana’s foot reaching high into the heavens. You can also draw King Bali watching in wonder.

Step 3: Colour Your Creation

Bring your three footprints to life with bright colours!

Use green and blue for the earth, light blue and yellow for the sky, and your favourite colours for Vamana and King Bali.

Your three-step story is ready!

A Little Story to Remember 💛

Vamana asked King Bali for just three steps of land. But when he grew into his enormous form, his first step covered the earth and his second covered the sky. For his third step, King Bali offered his own head.

This story reminds us of Vamana’s wonderful three steps and King Bali’s promise.

💡 Think About It!

If you could take three magical steps, where would you go? What would you like to see?

Display Your Artwork!

Show your three footprints to your family and tell them the story of Vamana and King Bali. You can also keep your artwork near your festival decorations.

Happy creating, little artists! 🌟
